New York City

Hello! My apologies for the long absence. The pressures of work and life got to me, so I’ve been using my weekends to recuperate 🙂 I think the storm has passed, so now I can get back to my blogging duties!

This week is off to a great start! Yesterday I received notice that a new block of tickets for the New York City Broadway stage play Hamilton had been released. I’ve been waiting on this announcement for some time, so I was ecstatic to finally get the email!

I immediately started searching for tickets, but kept coming up empty. I asked my sister to check as well, since two heads are better than one. Thankfully, she was able to find great seats for the July 3 show and scooped them up! So now we, along with my mom, will be spending our 2017 Fourth of July in New York City!!

I haven’t been to New York City since 2013 and I know a lot has changed since then. I’m eager to start planning, but given that the trip is nearly a year away, I have to slow my roll 🙂 Even so, there are a few things I’m looking forward to, outside of seeing Hamilton:

  • Visiting the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. This was still under construction when I was last there, so I’m looking forward to seeing the finished memorial.

  • Browsing through the flagship branch of the New York Public Library (Stephen A. Schwarzman Building). After watching the Sex In The City movie for the millionth time (one of my all-time favorite series) I think I need to make this a reality!

  • Eating the original Cronut© from Dominique Ansel Bakery. The lines were WAAAY too long in 2013, so I’m hoping they’re a bit shorter now…
